John Richards, Principal
John grew up in the building industry. He expanded his skills at the Construction Industry Training Councils’ apprenticeship program, where he could combine his formal classroom training with a real-world application at the family construction company.
In 1996, John formed J.C. Richards Construction Company. Still working closely with his family’s company, John expanded the business into the current robust portfolio.
In 2003, after receiving his degree from the University of Washington, Tacoma, John stepped away from J.C. Richards Construction to expand his expertise at two highly respectable corporate construction companies.
In 2016, John returned to J.C. Richards Construction with his wife, Kathi.
As the principal, John oversees operations, mentoring his team, and meeting with clients. He finds project estimating to be the most satisfying component when he saves the client time and money.
John believes it’s the motivated people and efficient processes that have built J.C. Richards Construction Company’s reputation, “We have a great team. We’re very organized and like to have fun along the way. Everyone takes pride in doing things the right way.”
On a rare occasion John gets away from his desk; you can find him camping with his wife and dogs in their new airstream throughout the Pacific Northwest.
